Glasgow City celebrated their 8th consecutive SWPL title with the announcement of a ground breaking sponsorship deal with EG Chauffeur Hire
In the first of its kind in Scotland, EG Chauffeur Hire have partnered with the Scottish Champions as their official car sponsor, with the initial agreement in place for 12 months.
The first Scottish women’s football team to have car sponsorship, City Club Manager Laura Montgomery says it is the icing on the cake for a great year so far. She said,
“As everyone knows, we have secured the title with three games to spare. We have won the League Cup and are in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup as we aim to complete our third record breaking successive domestic treble. We are also of course into the knock out stages of the Champions League and have some huge games coming up. Our sponsorship with EG Chauffeur Hire is hopefully another great indication of the rise of not just our club, but the women’s game in general as our gates increase and more and more companies are looking to partner with us at the elite level of women’s sport. Our players are the ultimate role models for all young girls out there and you certainly won’t be able to miss them now as they drive about the City.”
Commenting on the partnership EG Chauffeur Hire owner, Paul Kenny said;
“We are delighted to offer this support to Glasgow City. We partnered with them for the UEFA Women’s Champions League qualification round and we were very happy with how that went and I was keen to do something more permanent and substantial. The car sponsorship works extremely well for both parties and we are thrilled to be backing one of the very top sports teams in Scotland. The club’s success has been phenomenal over recent years and winning their 8th consecutive SWPL title only a few days ago proves that. We hope with our help, their success can continue for many years to come.”
